Child safeguarding and protection policy - Garda Vetting New diocesan policy and guidelines for child safeguarding and protection were launched on Tuesday 7th June at a meeting, which was addressed by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, in the Villa Pacis in Queen of Peace parish. The policy states: Every role in parish potentially involves some level of contact with children so “irrespective of the degree of contact, the Diocese requires all who are employed, or who engage in volunteer ministry or works of service for the Christian community in Diocesan offices, Diocesan agencies or parishes to undergo Garda Vetting as an expression of our common commitment to safeguarding children.”
This applies to everyone who volunteers in any capacity...those involved directly with children and all others, for example...Ministers of Eucharist and Word, choir members, coffee dock helpers, flower arrangers, twinning team, prayer group leaders, legion of Mary members etc. etc. etc.
If you help in the parish and have not been garda vetted already please fill in the form which is available in the Sacristy or on the parish office and return to Fr Enda as a matter of urgency.
Within the Holy Redeemer the welfare of our children is paramount.
The parish has a Safeguarding Children Policy in place, this document has been recently updated and the full document can be downloaded by Clicking here.
