Saint Luke

The following are some excerpts from March edition of St.Lukes e-Good News publication from the Archdiocese of Dublin, which Fr.Enda felt people may like to read. The full document can be accessed on the Dublin Diocese site or click here.

Jesus teaches us how to read the Scripture
Lent is a time of renewal of our commitment to follow Christ. It is a time to begin again and keep our eyes focused on the path that leads to Jerusalem.

Around the Archdiocese of Dublin the good news continues to make inroads. The Gospel of Luke is now beginning to be distributed by many parishes and people in a variety of methods. People are taking up the Gospel to read either at home or in groups.

This reading of the Gospel is good news!

You are invited to use this e-Good News to supplement your reading of the Gospel. Reading and praying the Gospel is one way of Lenten spiritual renewal. There are meditations and prayers to accompany a reading of the Gospel. On the last page there are some direct links to organisations and events that are supporting the Year of Evangelisation.

St. Patrick’s College Maynooth will host a Conference on Evangelisation and the Gospel of Luke. The Office of Evangelisation is encouraging parishes and individuals to attend. It will take place on Saturday 24th April 2010, 10:30 - 5:00pm. The keynote speaker with be Professor Santiago Guijarro from Spain.
