Hi-Rez Youth Centre - By young people for young people -
The Hi-Rez Youth Centre is an Independent Youth Centre on the Herbert Road for teenagers from first year up. The official opening of the centre was in May 2009. It currently has about one hundred and ninety nine members and thirty leaders. The centre is connected with Celtic Youth Bray which was founded by Dermot O Brien who is also the manager of Hi-Rez.

The Centre has 7 rooms: Dermot’s office, the kitchen, two toilets, a small room with the DJ equipment, the storage room and the main room. The centre has many facilities such as three laptops, two Apple Mac computers, DJ decks, playstation one and three, a big pool table an xbox 360, two televisions and furniture, e.g. sofas.

Members have undertaken several courses in the past two years. Last year, seven of the members have done media studies with senior leader Luke Benson, who studies media in D.I.T.
Eight members along with two members of Signal Arts Centre in Bray took part in a gardening project last year. We dug holes in the garden in order to plant stuff in them. We planted potatoes, carrots, peas and strawberries and harvested them early this year. We then made chips out of the potatoes.
Five members are currently involved in a DJ’ing course with DJ Spencer from Rap Ireland.

The centre has won several sporting competitions: The girls went to a tag rugby competition and came back with the first place trophy. Two teams went to a FAI/Bray Youth Service football tournament for Football Against Racism in Europe One team reached the quarter final stage and the other team won!

Youth Choir
Provides a way for young people become involved in the 7.30 pm Sunday Mass (school term only).There are over 20 members of the choir including musicians, male & female singers with 2 leaders overseeing all. The age group of the choir is 15 - 25 years.

Practice takes place in the church before Mass. New members are always welcome
